How Going Abroad Can Benefit Your Mental Health

As the festive season started to approach, I began to feel the stress and pressure of the never-ending to-do lists, family gatherings, and the pressure to make everything perfect. This year has been especially hectic for me with a busy work schedule and a long list of responsibilities. The thought of adding the chaos of Christmas on top of everything else was just too much to cope with

So, I made the decision to take a break and escape the cold weather by traveling abroad to a hot, sunny destination. It may seem strange to leave the comforts of home during the festive season, but for me, it was the perfect solution to avoid the stress and chaos that often comes with the Christmas holidays.

One of the reasons I decided to take this break was to give myself a break from the hectic gatherings that are a staple of the festive season. While I love my family and friends, and enjoy spending time with them, the thought of coordinating schedules, travelling across the country on numerous occasions, and trying to please everyone can be overwhelming for me and my children. Taking a break abroad allows me to relax and unwind without the added stress of trying to please everyone. I needed to take a break this year and recharge my batteries.

Another reason I decided to take a break abroad was to avoid the rush of the festive season. It seems like every year, the Christmas shopping lists get longer and the shops get more crowded. The pressure to find the perfect gifts for everyone can be overwhelming, and the thought of fighting crowds and dealing with the chaos of Christmas shopping was something I just couldn’t handle this year. By taking a break abroad, I can escape the stress of the festive rush and focus on relaxing and enjoying my holiday.

Finally, this year has been especially busy for me, and the thought of adding the chaos of the festive season on top of everything else was just too much to cope with. By taking a break abroad, I can escape the stress and responsibilities of everyday life and focus on recharging my batteries, and take time to reflect and review 2022, and start planning for 2023!

Overall, taking a break abroad to a hot, sunny destination was the perfect solution for me to avoid the stresses of the festive season. It may not be for everyone, but for me, it was just what I needed to relax and unwind during what can be a hectic time of year.

I am grateful that I made this decision and hope that it will help me return home refreshed and ready to tackle the new year.
